introduction of the Plumbing Act of 1886, which established the first plumbing
regulations in South Australia. The association was formed to represent the
interests of plumbers in the state and to promote high standards of workmanship
and professionalism in the industry.
Over the years, the MPASA has played a crucial role in
shaping the plumbing industry in South Australia. The organization has been
involved in developing plumbing codes and standards, lobbying for improvements

Throughout its history, the MPASA has been led by a number
of dedicated and influential individuals. Some of the past presidents of the
association include:
- F.W. Turner (1912-1913): Turner was the first president of the MPASA and played a key role in establishing the organization. He was also a prominent plumber in Adelaide, owning a plumbing and gasfitting business in the city.
- T. Phillips (1920-1921): Phillips was another prominent Adelaide plumber who served as president of the MPASA in the early 1920s. He was also a member of the South Australian House of Assembly, representing the district of Sturt.
- W.G. Hill (1945-1947): Hill was a well-respected plumber who served as president of the MPASA in the post-World War II years. He was also heavily involved in the establishment of the South Australian Plumbing Industry Training Board.
- B. Robson (1970-1972): Robson was a leading figure in the plumbing industry in South Australia, owning a successful plumbing and gasfitting business in Adelaide. He was also heavily involved in the MPASA’s training and education initiatives, serving as chairman of the association’s training committee for many years.
Today, the MPASA continues to play an important role in the
plumbing industry in South Australia. The organization provides a range of
